How much does Therapy cost?
Fees & Sessions
Intake Session (60 minutes): $200
Your first session includes a comprehensive assessment where we talk through your history, current challenges, strengths, and goals. This helps us develop a plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Ongoing Therapy Sessions (53 minutes): $175
Regular sessions focus on support, skill building, and meeting your individual needs and goals. Every session is personalized to your unique goals using evidence-based approaches tailored to what works best for you.
A limited number of sliding-scale spots may be available. Please contact us to ask about current availability.
Do you accept insurance?
Gray Matters is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows you to:
• Access therapy without insurance limitations or diagnostic requirements
• Choose the frequency and style of sessions that work for you
• Maintain privacy (no third-party reporting), and keep insurance companies out of decisions about your treatment
• Receive care tailored to your individual needs and goals rather than what an insurance plan may authorize
Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement can be provided upon request.
A limited number of sliding-scale spots may be available. Please contact us to ask about current availability.
How and where are your sessions held?
All therapy sessions are provided virtually through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Clients must be physically located in Massachusetts at the time of each therapy session. This gives you flexibility, privacy, and ease, no commute, no waiting room, and more consistency in your care.
What can I expect in therapy?
Therapy at Gray Matters is collaborative and tailored to you. It is a supportive space where you can explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and move towards the life you want. Our sessions are centered on what’s happening in your life, how you’re feeling, patterns you may be noticing, and the coping skills that can help. Together, we’ll explore what’s working, what feels difficult, and new ways to move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Why do I have to be in Massachusetts for therapy?
Mackenzie is licensed to provide psychotherapy in Massachusetts, and state licensing laws require that clients be physically located in Massachusetts at the time of each therapy session.
What does LCSW mean?
An LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is a licensed mental health professional who has completed graduate-level education, extensive supervised clinical training, and a state licensing examination. As an LCSW, I am qualified to assess, diagnose, and provide psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs. This allows me to practice ethically with evidence based modalities to treat mental health.
How do I know if we are a good fit therapeutically?
Finding the right therapist is important. A free 15-minute consultation gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether we’re a good fit for working together.
Can I begin therapy without scheduling a consultation first?
Yes. If you’re ready to begin therapy, you can request an intake without scheduling a consultation first. Complete our brief Intake Request Form and we’ll be in touch about availability and next steps.
