Mackenzie Gray (she/her/hers), MSW, LCSW
Mackenzie Gray, MSW, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in human services. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2004, earning a dual degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies, and has dedicated her career to working with diverse and underserved populations. She has provided services across a wide range of settings, including day habilitation programs, in-home programs, residential facilities, health care settings, shelters, and crisis units.

Mackenzie’s professional experience encompasses having worked with many populations such as individuals and families with developmental disabilities, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, those experiencing substance use, homelessness, and/or domestic abuse survivors. She has also specialized in supporting LGBTQ+ youth and adults, particularly those in crisis or facing discrimination.

Starting her career as a case manager, Mackenzie quickly advanced to senior case manager, program manager, and ultimately, director. In these roles, she honed her leadership and management skills, overseeing program development, staff supervision, training, and strategic planning. She has managed all aspects of program operations, including budgeting, compliance, staff development, and volunteer coordination. Her responsibilities also extended to conducting trainings, team meetings, and ensuring compliance with contracts and grants.

Mackenzie earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Salem State University, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and the Tri Alpha honor societies in recognition of her academic achievements. Clinically, Mackenzie integrates solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, a strength-based approach, the systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), tailoring her approach to meet people where they are, while overcoming barriers and meeting goals. She is especially passionate about addressing the intersectionality of the LGBTQ+ identity and homelessness, advocating for both inclusive and affirming services.

When she’s not working, Mackenzie can often be found riding her motorcycle, embracing the sense of freedom and forward momentum she encourages in her clients or spending time with her four-legged family and enjoying ice cream!
